Three Nissan vehicles recently earned JD Power APEAL awards. This test looks at automotive performance, execution, and layout on new models. The all-new 2016 Nissan TITAN XD took first for the Large Light Duty Pickup segment, the Maxima won the Large Car segment, and the Altima came in second for the Midsize Car segment.
According to Nissan, the JD Power APEAL awards are given on the basis of customer satisfaction and surveys. In other words, Nissan owners were so satisfied with their driving experience, that they ranked three models among the highest in the industry. Many especially noted the sense of safety provided by Nissan Safety Shield technologies like Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, and more.
“It is gratifying to see three vehicles that are either all-new or redesigned receive such high marks from customers,” said Christian Meunier, VP of Sales and Marketing for Nissan. “And along with our best-selling sedans and crossovers, Nissan is providing more options as we launch the ‘Year of the Truck’ with our all-new TITAN and TITAN XD trucks.”
This is the 21st year in a row for the JD Power APEAL survey. Models are ranked on a 1,000-point overall scale. The TITAN scored an 867, the Maxima had 857, and the Altima had 824 points. The Murano and Sentra also scored high, at 831 and 814. This is pretty impressive for Nissan, especially considering the fact the industry average was just 801 points.
